Chapter 8: Hunting

Locustpaw dashed through the forest, straight towards his prey.  Leaping towards the squirrel, he landed on it and quickly snapped it's neck.  He turned around to where Elementpaw was sitting, smiling at him with her bright green eyes.  Locustpaw dropped the squirrel and started to lick his black and silver chest.
"That was a nice catch." mewed Elementpaw.  Locustpaw looked up.
"Thanks."  he said, smiling at her.  She was pretty, orange and white with reddish streaks interlaced throughout her fur.
"Let's head back." she suggested.  Locustpaw nodded and picked up the squirrel.  As they were nearing camp, Locustpaw stopped.  There was a group of apprentices gathered near the camp entrance.
"Why, hello, Loserpaw." one snarled.  Locustpaw could feel Elementpaw bristling beside him.  He shook his head.
"It's okay." he whispered.  "They do this every day."  Still, he could sense her anger.  Before he could stop her, she dropped her mouse.
"You can't say that to him!" she yelled.  "It's not his fault his mother was a rouge!"  Locustpaw tensed.  He liked to avoid the subject of his mother.  Before anything bad could happen, Patchstrength padded out of the clearing.
"Alright, break it up" he mewed, as the apprentices reluctantly padded back into the clearing and dispersed. Nobody argued with Patchstrength, even though he was not the deputy.  His sister, Spiritcloud, was.  When the announcement had been made, everybody was confused as to why Patchstrength wasn't chosen.  But it didn't matter, because everybody respected him anyway.  Locustpaw especially liked him.  Elementpaw and Patchstrength were Locustpaw's only friends in the clan.  There was another reason Locustpaw liked Patchstrength.  He, like Locustpaw, didn't have a mother.

Author's note:  I do realize we skipped chapter 7.  Jersey started it, but she hasn't finished it yet.  So I decided to write this chapter to keep the blog active.  When Jersey finishes the chapter, I'll delete this and repost it.  Until then, enjoy!

Chapter 6: The One Who Does Not Belong

Cloverleaf woke up, startled.  He couldn't help remembering the awful dream he had just experienced.  When he went outside, he looked around for Boulderstar.  Seeing him, he hurried over.  "Boulderstar, I need to tell you something."  Boulderstar looked worried.  "I need to tell you something as well." he mewed.  "Come."  He padded into his den, Cloverleaf followed.  "Boulderstar paused.  "Why don't you go first?" Cloverleaf nodded. "I... I was sent a prophecy." he breathed.  Boulderstar's eyes widened.  "So was I. Do you know what it means?" he inquired.  Cloverleaf shook his head.  "Not all of it." he confessed. But I think I know who 'the one who does not belong' is."  Boulderstar looked confused. "That wasn't in my prophecy..." he mused.  Cloverleaf frowned.  "Oh." he replied, then he explained the prophecy he had received.  "Death will take the one who does not belong." he said, sounding grave.  He looked over at Locustpaw, who was sitting alone, eating a piece of prey.  Boulderstar followed his gaze.  "That's strange.  My prophecy said 'On the night of the red moon, Death will come'".   Cloverleaf frowned with sorrow.  "We can't oppose Starclan." he mewed.  "I just have one question: Why?"

Chapter 5:Blazeclan

"Oh Echospirit, I bet our kits will be beautiful" Dreampelt mewed, obviously wanting Torn-Heart to hear her. Just keep rubbing it in. Torn-Heart thought to himself, disgusted. And to believe he had actually loved her! Only one problem-he still did. She had left him, and went with Echospirit. She had wanted to hurt him. After she had left him, Torn-Heart had tried to kill himself, unable to bear life alone. And what does she do-She saves him! She had done that on purpose. Not because she cared about the warriors of Blazeclan, because she wanted to torture him.
Torn-Heart had no one. He grew up as a rougue, and a dog pack ripped his parents to shreds. They died saving him and his siblings. His sister had caught green-cough as a kit, and she didn't make it. His brother got run over by a twoleg monster. Torn-Heart had grew up alone most of his life, until he got his mate,Ginger. She was beautiful, amber colored with pitch black stripes down her back, and on her forehead and cheeks. He had loved her, but she too had passed, killed by another rougue. She had saved his life. The rougue was going to kill Torn-Heart, but she took his place.
Torn-Heart sighed, and glanced over at Dreampelt. She was with Echospirit,as always. She shot him a cold look, and he snorted, annoyed and disgusted. Stupid she-cat. Torn-Heart looked away, and padded into the warriors den. "Hi Torn-Heart" He turned as he heard Splashfeather's soft voice behind him. "Err...Hi..." Splashfeather smiled, and came closer. "I wouldn't be surprised if Wolfclan knew about Dreampelt's kits, with her big mouth" Splashfeather purred, amusement in her eyes. "Yeah..." Torn-Heart stood there, blankly, trying to think of what to say next. Splashfeather frowned, and looked at him,and he could tell, that she saw hurt written all over him. "Err...You look tired. Maybe you should rest..."She smiled, and slowly padded out of the den. What was that about? Torn-Heart shrugged, and lay in his nest, thinking. Does she know...? Torn-Heart,lay wondering. And,why did I sense love coming from her?

Chapter 4: Solarclan

Moonstar sighed.  They were so happy in Stormclan.  They would never know.  And that was how it would stay.  "Moonstar."  The white she-cat whipped around, startled.  "Oh, it's you."  Her medicine cat, Lakestone, was standing behind her.  "Are you ready to share with Starclan?"  "Yes."  Moonstar replied.  Even though she wasn't new like all of the other leaders, Moonstar was still going to share with Starclan to receive prophecies about the new territory.  "Let's go." she sighed.  At he  Cave of Stars, Moonstar took a deep breath, and padded in.  Moonstar wandered throughout the deep forest of Starclan. "Welcome." mewed a dark brown tom.  ""you have successfully made the journey to the new territories.  And..."  His voice trailed off.  "What?" asked Moonstar.  But the tom disappeared, replaced by a voice.  "On the night of the red moon, Death will come."  Then the clearing was flooded with red light.  Moonstar woke up.  "Oh no..." she breathed.

Chapter 3:Wolfclan

Lakepool wondered through the medicine den, putting away various herbs and berries. He was worried about Reflecteye, now Reflectstar. She was very distant when she got back from the Cave of Stars, and he found it hard to sense her emotions. He tried to think of what could make her seem so lost, though she is right in her home. I can't sense her usually bold emotions...He thought. Defeated, he padded into his nest.Maybe he would have a dream.
Lakepool padded through the forest, making his way to the Cave of Stars. He saw Reflectstar sleeping there, earning her nine lives. Lakepool paused, and then put his nose on the great stone. He was then warped into her nine life ceremony. "There's Reflectstar." Lakepool whispered to himself. "And with this life I give you Love. Use it to love all the cats in your clan." He heard a tom mew to Reflectstar. Then, the moon turned red like blood. The clearing no longer had the white glow of the full moon, but a red circle, like blood.
"The night of the red moon,Death will come" the tom mewed to her. She seemed to shake with fear and confusion, but she just nodded slightly. She warped out of the dream, as did Lakepool. He silently followed her again, who waited outside of the cave. "What is she doing?" Lakepool thought. It was rather odd that she didn't go straight home. Then he saw another, bulkier shape come out of the cave, with a pelt as white as snow. "Blazeheart! No,BlazeSTAR!"
"Want to walk back with me?" She asked him, hope in her eyes."Sure, I guess." They walked home, discussing the words of the starry tom. When Blazestar left, Lakepool felt an emotion bounce off of her. "Love. But why?"
